Abernethy School Auction, Saturday, April 4

The Abernethy 2009 Prom & Auction will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at The Melody Ballroom from 6pm until well after the kids’ bedtimes.
· 6 pm Silent Auction
· 7:30 pm Dinner & Live auction
· 9 pm Dancing With DJ Gregarious

Advance tickets are $20 per person ($25 at the door). Price includes dinner, dessert and beverages; corsages and boutonnieres may also be reserved online for $5 each. There will also be activities, fun and games: Prom King or Queen Contest for Best Attire, prom photos, and the company of fellow parents and teachers as we raise money to support our beloved school.

Spring Garden of Wonders Clean Up

This Saturday, March 14th
8 am to noontime

Come get your hands in the soil with the GOW crew and get the garden looking ship-shape for the first planting of the season. We need helping prepping garden beds, moving wood chips, pruning berried & dahlias, weeding, shed cleaning and more! Light refreshments provided. Bring your kids, bring your gloves, bring your favorite tools. We hope to see you there…there will be a bit of something for everyone. If you think you might come, please send an e-mail to vanessajherald@ yahoo.com so we can get a sense of the crowd and how much we hope to get done.

Abernethy Families, Friends, Neighbors, Flapjack aficionados, and anyone interested in a good time for a great cause.
This Saturday, February 14th (Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day but who doesn’t ‘heart’ Oregon ?!)
8:30 am – 11:00 am (Senator Merkley is scheduled to arrive between 9:15 – 9:30 am)
$5 person / $15 family

Tickets may be purchased at the door. If you plan to pay at the door, we’d love if you could send a quick RSVP to Neel Pender at neelp@newvillages. com so that we can better estimate how many flapjacks we’ll need to get on the griddle!

T-Shirt Pick-Up
For anyone who pre-ordered T-shirts, they will be available for pick up on Saturday. No additional pre-orders are being taken at this time. However, there may be a few additional t-shirts available for purchase at the event.

Senator Jeff Merkley
Senator Merkley is joining us for the Abernethy Flapjack Feed on his first official trip back to Oregon . This is a fun, non-political event, but it is a great opportunity to showcase our treasured school to one of Oregon ‘s top elected leaders, especially in these challenging economic times. We hope you can join us by 9:30 a.m. to help ensure a warm Abernethy welcome!
