Prescription Drug Turn In, Saturday, Sept. 25

Prescription Drug Take-Back
Saturday Sept. 25, 2010 from 10am to 2pm
at a location near you

Are you aware of the threat unused prescription drugs pose to our community?
Teenagers and young people are increasingly experimenting with old painkillers found in their parents’ medicine cabinets, at times leading to deadly results. Prescription drug overdoses killed more than 180 people in Oregon last year – more overdose deaths than those caused by heroin, meth or cocaine.

Unused drugs that are disposed of improperly, by being thrown in the trash or flushed down the toilet, also end up in our rivers and streams, poisoning our fragile waterways.

To help keep our children safe and our rivers clean, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is sponsoring events nationwide this Saturday.

Please clean out your medicine cabinet and bring all unused, unneeded prescription drugs to a location near you. Drop-off is easy, secure, and no questions asked. All drugs that are dropped off will be disposed of properly – helping to protect our children and the environment.

Spread the word to your friends, family and community. This event is nationwide so no matter where you live, there is a location nearby for you to get rid of unused prescriptions and help keep your community clean.
