Staying In Touch with Your Neighborhood
It can be difficult to know where to go when you want to know what’s going on in your neighborhood. And despite best efforts, getting the word out is sometimes a challenge for neighborhood board members. But here are some basics on how to tune in to HAND and stay in touch. You can choose your own level of engagement:

Direct Email:
Sign up for HAND Announcements and alerts through our email list-serv. HAND has a moderated email distribution list that serves as our most immediate contact for meeting advisories, crime alerts or city events. We post what we think the community would be interested in. You can sign up to get these emails by sending an email to:

View from the web:
HAND has a website that is updated as much as possible, with events, reminders and other useful information for the community. You can visit the website at:

We are always looking for volunteers to help contribute/coordinate this site. If you’re interested, please contact our Communications Chair: communications-at-handpdx-dot-org

Become a “Friend”
HAND has a Facebook page where we put notices, alerts and other updates. Become a friend by “liking” our page, search: “Hosford-Abernethy.” (note: it’s spelled with two “e’s”)

Join us for a Meeting:

HAND meets the third Tuesday of every month (excluding August and December), from 7 – 9 p.m. at St. Philip Neri’s Carvlin Hall: 2408 SE 16th Avenue (and Division). If there is a Land Use meeting, it usually begins at 6:30 in the same place. All are welcome to join us for a meeting. It’s a great way to be part of the conversation!

Traditional mail:
