What Is This Meeting About?
The City has allowed wireless antennae to be placed onexisting and taller
replacement utility poles since 2002. We are currently re-visiting the terms
and conditions of these placements, especially in residential areas.
The City’s Office of Cable Communications & Franchise Management will
present the proposed amendments to update the wireless placements at
this meeting.
How Has the Public Been Involved?
The City conducted a series of public meetings in March 2008, followed by an
online survey in April-May 2008 to collect public input before developing the amendments. Over 900 people responded to the online survey. The survey,
detailed results, and summary results are posted on our website. Using the public’s feedback, staff developed the proposed amendments that will be presented on October 29.
Where Can I Read the Proposed Amendments?
A summary of the proposed changes is posted on our website at www.portlandonline.com/cable/index.cfm?c=46289 Go to Survey Results
(April-May 2008) to review results. Can also view photos of existing cell
phone equipment on poles. Click photos and view photo number 4 for
