It’s time to think about honoring some of the many volunteers who make our community work — here in the neighborhood, in our schools, in our nonprofit organizations, in our business community. The annual Spirit of Portland Awards nominations are now being accepted:

This popular City tradition celebrates those volunteers who help make Portland shine. Do you know an individual, a neighborhood or a business that is a star in their community? The Spirit of Portland Awards are one way the City recognizes the importance of community involvement in shaping the livability of Portland. The Mayor and City Commissioners will presented this year’s awards sometime in late fall.
Three new categories have been added to list this year:
Emergency Preparedness
Community Policing/Public Safety
Public Involvement
