Portland Parks & Recreation announces schedule of workshops, discussions, recreational events and class demonstrations for special community-wide event on Saturday, October 25
The City of Portland is full of opportunities to have your voice heard. But when was the last time you had the chance to see a Capoeira demonstration or learn a new craft one minute and discuss where future new parks should go the next?
ParkFest: Come Play and Have Your Say, an exciting and innovative new approach to engaging the public in discussions about the future of Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R), will debut from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 at University Park Community Center, 9009 N Foss Avenue in north Portland.
In addition to workshops and information tables designed to generate discussion about PP&R’s future direction, the event will also feature an array of fun recreational opportunities, from climbing walls and tae kwon do to indoor skateboarding and papermaking. There will also be door prizes, entertainment, and complimentary food and refreshments.
