Attention Dog Park Users!
Hosford Middle School had a fire drill today, and many students stepped in dog poop. The teachers are furious (as they should be), and have started a petition to stop dogs from using the school fields after-hours.As many of you know, this is not an official dog park, and we are here because Hosford’s (assistant) principal, Dr. G, has given us permission to use the school’s fields. It is completely within the school’s right, however, to deny access to dogs, which just may happen after today’s debacle.
I’m sure I speak for many when I say that this is an excellent dog park, full of wonderful dogs and caring owners. I imagine that most of the poop is on the ground not because people chose not to pick it up, but because they didn’t see their dog go in the first place. So, please please please, whenever you see poop, please pick it up, regardless of whether it is “yours” or not. Do your best to always bring a couple of extra poo bags to the park, help remind newcomers what a treasure this place is, and pitch in when something needs doing.
