The railroad crossings at SE 11th and 12th Avenues are scheduled to open at 5 a.m. Monday, August 5 as planned.
The crossing at SE 8th Avenue is now scheduled to open Wednesday, August 7, when the new traffic signals will be turned on.
SE 11th & 12th avenues
SE 11th and 12th avenues will operate much like they did before the closure, with gates and bells at the track crossings, and stop signs for traffic on Clinton and Gideon streets. The new traffic signals for 11th, 12th, Clinton and Gideon will turned on later this fall. The permanent bike/ped route will be in place about a year later. In the meantime, westbound cyclists and pedestrians crossing the tracks at Clinton should follow signs to stay on sidewalks. Eastbound cyclists can use sidewalks or streets.
SE 8th Avenue
Detour signs will remain in place for the SE 8th Avenue closure through Wednesday, directing traffic to Grand/MLK or 11th Avenue.
Please note, other projects beginning Monday will also affect traffic: sewer construction will close SE Division Street to through traffic between SE 26th and 29th avenues, and Streetcar construction will narrow MLK near SE Stephens Street.
