St. Philip Neri’s 4th annual Muddy Boot Organic festival will take place September 11th – 13th, 2009. The parish is currently recruiting for a few people to help with the event planning, coordination, marketing and outreach.

PART TIME / TEMPORARY PAID POSITIONS

Marketing and Outreach Manager

· Develop newspaper, magazine, radio and online advertising campaign.

· Manage graphic design layout for 2009.

· Develop advertising sponsorships with local newspapers, radio stations and magazines. Develop festival banners, posters and flyers and organize a distribution of both.

· Develops press release and distributes to local media.

· Markets and promotes festival bands.

· Must help set and work within an advertising budget.

· Extends outreach campaign to local churches, non-profits, neighborhood associations and community groups.

· Works closely with festival planning committee, and Festival Director, but also works independently to reach advertising goals.

· Other duties as assigned

· Reports to Festival Director

· This position will be a temporary employee of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church
Position duration: April 1st – September 16th, 2009
10 hours per week
Salary $10 – $12 per hour, dependent on experience

Sponsor and Vendor Manager

Guided by sponsor budget, secure sufficient sponsorships with local sustainable organizations.
Ensure all sponsor benefits are met.
Invoice sponsors and manage payments.
Guided by vendor budget, secure sufficient non-profit, children’s, food and business festival exhibitors.
Manage vendor payments.
Manage site plan and vendor booth assignments and set up.
· Works closely with festival planning committee, and Festival Director, but also works independently to reach sponsorship and vendor participation goals.

Schedule 8 – 12 educational workshops.
· Other duties as assigned

· Reports to Festival Director

· This position will be a temporary employee of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church
Position duration: April 1st – September 16th, 2009
10 hours per week
Salary $10 – $12 per hour, dependent on experience

We also have the following VOLUNTEER opportunities available:

Music Assistant

· Email correspondence with potential bands.

· Gathering promotional material from bands and coordinating with Marketing & Outreach manager.

· Producing band contracts.

· Coordinating festival weekend music schedule (load in, sound checks)

· Festival weekend stage management.

Children’s Activity Coordinator

· Schedules children’s entertainment

· Schedules children’s arts, crafts and environmental projects.

Recycling Coordinator

· Coordinate festival waste management

· Work with food vendors to follow recycling and composting plan.

· Manage festival recycling center and volunteers.

· Work with St. Philip Neri hauler to schedule and oversee compost & recycling pick up.
