I’m excited to announce our next HAND Board meeting on Tuesday March 11
at 7PM in the Admin Building of St Philip Neri Church (west end of
campus). We’ll be in one of the rooms to the right (not sure which one
yet, things have been pretty fluid lately).
This should be an interesting meeting — we’ll be hearing from one of
our District 3 Representatives, Tiffany Koyama Lane. She is the first
of our City Councilors we’ve met with and I hope that we can introduce
ourselves, talk about the issues of interest to the neighborhood, and
learn a bit about what’s happening at City Hall.
We’ll also be meeting with Nikki Mandell, who will tell us a bit more
about the Critical Energy Infrastructure Hub in NW Portland. This is a
bit outside our neighborhood, but if there is an earthquake or other
serious event that impacts the facilities there, it will definitely
impact us.
Just a reminder: many of you should have received a notice in the mail,
but the county will be holding a public meeting to discuss the new
deflection and sobering center slated to open in HAND in early 2026.
Come and learn a bit more about what is planned and help us create a
Good Neighbor Agreement. March 20th at the Redd (8th & Salmon)
