UPDATE: We are less than two weeks away from the Division/Clinton Street Fair!

The vacant lot at Ladd & Division, fondly referred to by some as the “Ladd triangle” has been approved by Multnomah County (current owners of the lot) for day-use during the Division/Clinton Street Fair, Saturday, July 24th. So we are putting on a party!

“7 Corners” area of SE Division Street

As co-sponsors of the 18th Annual Division/Clinton Street Fair, the Hosford-Abernethy Neighborhood Development Association is hosting a community block party at SE 19th Ave. & Division called “Roots of Our Neighborhood.” The event’s theme is centered around cultural and agriculutural connections in our neighborhood over the past century.

From noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, HAND is hosting a wide range of musical performances.
7 Corners Stage lineup:
12:00 – 1 p.m. –
Children’s musician/songwriter David Hall
1:00 – 1:45 p.m. – Local Jazz Trio (Dave Captein on bass, Steve Ungar on drums and John Gilmore, vocalist).
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. – Various artists from Colored Pencils Art Collective

The “Roots of Our Neighborhood” event will also feature a booth dedicated to the history of the neighborhood with a photo essay and video presentation. There will be activities for children, information about neighborhood involvement, local artisans & farmers and outreach from agencies currently working on projects in HAND, including: METRO Sustainable Gardening – Mobile Garden, Bureau of Environmental Services “Tabor to the River” and more!

The “Roots of Our Neighborhood” is funded in part by a $1,000 neighborhood grant from Southeast Uplift.
